This program provides financial assistance and support services to Islanders with significant and long-term disabilities to help with daily living costs and community participation.

AccessAbility Supports
AccessAbility Supports focus on empowering individuals living with disabilities to access the tools they need to reach their full potential and contribute to society as fully as possible. The program supports Islanders with physical, intellectual, neurological, sensory and/or mental disabilities who experience substantial impairments in their activities of daily living.
Five Areas of Support Provided
Help is available under five areas of support, as follows: Personal Supports, Housing Supports, Community Supports, Caregiver Supports and Financial Supports. They also provide employment and vocational supports, including job coaching and skill development. The following supports are all parts of the AccessAbility Supports program and use the same contact information.
Assistive Technology (Technical Aids and Assistive Devices)
Funding for equipment such as wheelchairs, communication devices, specialized equipment and software for eligible individuals with disabilities.
Home and Vehicle Modifications
Financial help for modifications required due to a disability.
Specialized Transportation
Supports to enable active participation in the community.
